Privacy Policy

GiftTally is a personal gift-budgeting tool. It helps you create budget envelopes, track gifts, attach photos and receipts, and manage optional in-app Points for certain features.

We designed the App so that your budgeting content stays on your device. We do not operate a GiftTally cloud account or sync service for your envelopes, gifts, or media.

2.1 Information you provide in the App

Depending on how you use the App, you may enter or generate:

• Display name and profile avatar (optional)
• Envelope names, budget amounts, and notes
• Gift names, prices, statuses, notes, and dates
• Photos of gifts, packaging, and receipts
• Short voice notes attached to envelopes or gifts
• Points usage history (titles and point amounts shown in the App)

This information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share it through iOS features (for example, the share sheet when exporting a receipt summary image).

2.2 Sign in with Apple

The App uses Sign in with Apple for access. When you sign in, Apple may provide us with:

• A unique Apple user identifier
• Your name (if you choose to share it)
• Your email address (if you choose to share it, or Apple's private relay email)

We store the Apple user identifier and any name or email Apple provides in the App's local storage on your device to recognize your session on that device. We do not use Sign in with Apple to upload your budgeting data to our servers.

2.3 In-App Purchases

If you buy Points packs, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple provides transaction information needed to deliver consumable Points in the App. Purchase history may also appear in your Apple ID account settings.

2.4 Permissions and device access

The App may request access to:

• Camera — to capture gift, receipt, and package photos
• Photo Library — to choose existing images for gifts and receipts
• Microphone — to record optional voice notes
• Notifications — only if you turn them on in the App; used for planned-gift reminders and budget alerts you configure
• App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — optional; if you allow tracking, the advertising identifier may be used as permitted by Apple's policies

You can change or revoke permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

2.5 Technical and diagnostic data

The App may generate standard iOS system logs and crash data handled by Apple's platforms. We do not describe collecting additional analytics in the App itself unless you add third-party SDKs later.

We use information only to:

• Provide and operate App features (budgeting, gifts, receipts, Points, exports)
• Authenticate your session with Sign in with Apple on your device
• Deliver and validate In-App Purchases through Apple
• Send local notifications you have enabled
• Improve stability and security of the App

We do not sell your personal information.

• Budgeting content, photos, voice files, profile, Points balance, and sign-in identifiers are stored on your device (for example, in app storage and UserDefaults).
• We do not transmit your envelope, gift, or media content to GiftTally-operated servers as part of normal App use.
• Data may leave your device only when you use Apple services (App Store purchases), iOS share/export features, or device backups (for example, iCloud Backup), which are controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App.

You can:

• Delete individual envelopes, gifts, or media inside the App
• Use “Delete All Data” in the Me section to erase envelopes, gifts, receipts, profile, Points, and sign-out state on that device
• Uninstall the App to remove local App data from the device (subject to iOS backup behavior)

Deleting all data does not cancel active App Store subscriptions; manage subscriptions in Apple ID settings.

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

• Sign out: available in the Me section; removes local sign-in identifiers on the device
• Notifications: enable or disable in the App and in iOS Settings
• Tracking: allow or deny when iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt
• Network access: required for Sign in with Apple, loading App Store prices, and completing purchases
• Permissions: manage Camera, Photos, Microphone, and Notifications in iOS Settings

The App relies on Apple services, including:

• Sign in with Apple
• App Store / StoreKit (In-App Purchases)
• iOS system frameworks for camera, photos, microphone, and notifications

Apple's use of data is governed by Apple's privacy policies and your Apple ID settings.

If you use the App outside your home country, your information is processed on your device and through Apple's services according to their terms and applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
